Ballparks + Campsites = The New National Pastime

July 8, 2021

We’re not just heading into the second half of summer. We’re also heading into the second half of baseball season.

So whether it’s your final destination or a stop along the way, we matched up some of our favorite baseball stadiums with nearby RV parks to help you get a game in with the entire family.

⚾ PNC ParkPittsburgh, PA
Mountain Top CampgroundTarentum, PA
PNC Park—home of the Pittsburgh Pirates—has a reputation for being one of the best ballparks in Major League Baseball, featuring local food, tons of fun, and a wide-open outfield that gives you a breathtaking view of the city. 30 minutes north of Downtown Pittsburgh, you’ll find Mountain Top Campground, featuring spacious campsites, stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and affordable weekend rates.

⚾ Kauffman StadiumKansas City, MO
Worlds of Fun VillageKansas City, MO
If the name “Worlds of Fun” doesn’t convince you, the great reviews and very unique amenities will. Located a short drive north of Kauffman Stadium—home of the Kansas City Royals—Worlds of Fun Village offers the amenities you expect (sewer, water, electric, wi-fi, etc.) as well as a pool, a jacuzzi, and a nearby amusement park. Yes, an amusement park.

⚾ Minute Maid ParkHouston, TX
Lakeview RV ResortHouston, TX
If you’re heading to Houston and want to catch an Astros game, you must stay at Lakeview RV Resort. It’s a 20-minute drive from Minute Maid Park, and even closer to so many more of Houston’s must-see destinations. It’s also amenity-rich, with all the basics you expect from an RV park as well as a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and stocked fishing lake.

⚾ Oriole Park at Camden YardsBaltimore, MD
Bar Harbor RV ParkAbingdon, MD
This is one of our favorite ballpark/RV campsite combos because you get all the high-energy fun of the city along with peaceful, scenic views from the banks of the Bush River. Bar Harbor RV Park boasts solid amenities, but the waterfront location makes it an unforgettable experience. The lush, tree-rich peninsula campsite is also only a 30-minute drive from the game day excitement of Eutaw Street and Oriole Park.
